BUTF BRITISH OPEN REPORT - 2015

A very successful day for the club at the BUTF's British 2015 tournament, made all the better with the outside groups 'The Heart Of England' and 'Bytomic Taekwondo' taking part.

As an instructor it's always special when a student comes out a winner and we had plenty yesterday. In fact I had a number of people commenting on how many times Chesham was being announced amongst the winners.

Although all the students deserve a mention I think the greatest moments of the day were from the kids. Amazing results. Charlie Rix in his first tournament winning a gold in patterns and silver in sparring.

Liam Glintzer also getting gold in his large patterns division, and the pee wee yellow belt sparring division was dominated by Chesham with 3 of the 4 medals, Gold for Joe Rix (after getting a bronze in patterns), Neilon Pascall (first tournament ) got silver and Ian Evans got bronze (as well as bronze in patterns ).

Max Whitley again produced the maximum tally of 3 golds. This therefore earns him the ‘Overall junior black belt champion 2015’ title, the trophy to be presented at the next tournament in 2016.

Lewis Swallow, another junior black belt, in his first tournament at this level, won a bronze in his pattern event after having just 2 weeks to learn it!
